Every day is different. It can be something very simple that didn't go our way or someone that said something that hurt our feelings. Perhaps it's just the general feeling of being tired of trying to make things better when you can't seem to fix anything. And sometimes, on some of the worst days, you don't even know why you're feeling down or upset. You might have a few vague ideas here and there but nothing concrete enough to put your finger on it. This is such a terrible feeling because not knowing what's wrong with yourself can really wear you down over time. And if you don't feel like yourself, then usually nothing else seems right either. The answer to why you feel down or upset is always at least a few factors that play a role. It helps if you figure out the ideal situation that would make you happy and, by extension, how you can change things in your life to conform with your preferred vision of happiness. But as we all know, sometimes the best laid plans don't work out as they should. You try to make small changes here and there but nothing seems to stick. Your mood keeps worsening as days go by and weeks fly by without anything significant changing at all. Worst of all, maybe now that things have slowed down a bit, you finally realize just how completely screwed up everything is and that it's only going to get worse from here. Or maybe, just to be extremely pessimistic about things, you realize that this will be the last time that you'll ever have any control over your own life. So why are some days so bad? Why do certain people always seem to find themselves in bad situations? Why do some people always seem to make the wrong decisions? To better understand what's really going on under the surface of our lives, we need to first take a look at our biological make-up. Our evolutionary history is what it is and there's no getting around it. Much of our biology is actually designed to help us survive or thrive in certain environments.
